2016 is upon us!

Winter is still brewing but spring will soon be upon us and with that means some more RC action. We had an extremely tight schedule last year and we appreciate all the help from volunteers for making that possible. With a new year comes new ideas and we are hoping to make the track better than ever. The club is working hard to get everything we can in line before the snow starts melting and we are able to get back on the track.

Currently we are working on getting the word out there about the club and finding more new faces that are interested in what we are doing. I personally have been creating posters and newsletters that we will be handing out to various places in order to get some more buzz going around town and hopefully that would allow us to catch the attention of those who might not use social media or have not heard about us already.

Goals for 2016

Our main priority for the beginning of the year is to obtain a 20ft seacan which will be used as a driver stand so drivers have a clear view of the track at all times no matter when they may want to use the track. We plan to built a deck surface on top with a roof as well if funds allow. A driver stand is of utmost importance when it comes to establishing the facility and is a vital part of any RC race track.

Later down the line we also hope to obtain a lap counting system which we will use for counting laps and keeping track of race events that we hold. This system adds a more intuitive way for all us to keep track of stats as well as make keeping track of events that much easier.

Other possible goals would be changing track layouts, adding small features, equipment and other things of that nature. The main goal would be the driver stand above all else however.

Sponsors

In order to obtain some of the goals we are looking to achieve for this year, we will need support to help make that happen. If you are interested in helping the club look for sponsorship or would like to sponsor, please reach out to us either on facebook or email and we will be sure to get back to you with further information.

Memberships now available!

The 2016 memberships are now available to purchase at the price of $100 for adults and $50 for youth under the age of 16 at Creative Zone in Terrace. These memberships will last the entire season (March-October) and members will have access to the track at any time via a key that will be given to you when you purchase one. I will be updating the printable membership form on the site within the next little while but in the mean time Jon at Creative Zone has plenty.

Don't forget that if you buy your membership before February 20th, you will receive a $20 gift card for Creative Zone in Terrace. Awesome!
